Director Pakistan Study Centre  attended two-day  UN conference at Bhurban, Murree. The conference was organized by European Union and UN Women’s  Pakistan office. The theme of the conference was Pro-Women and Children Legislation in Pakistan with a special focus on Child Marriages. Speaker of European Union to Pakistan Androula Karminara and Deputy Speaker KP Assembly Mehmood Jan were chief guests at inaugural and concluding ceremonies. Director Pakistan Study Centre  stressed the need for raising awareness before going for legislation. He highlighted the role of Ulama in awareness raising. 


Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar held a 2-Day National Workshop on “Data Collection Tools” at Baragali summer camp University of Peshawar on 30th and 31st August 2021. Director NIPS Quaid-e-Azam University Dr. Hanif Khalil inaugurated the event.  The workshop was attended by PhD scholars and faculty of various institutions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  

In his welcome address Director Prof Dr Fakhr-ul-Islam said that Research Methodology is one of the weakest areas with MPhil and PhD scholars. The result is that scholar face serious problems in producing quality theses and research papers. Keeping in view that deficiency, PSC decided to arrange the workshop.  

Resource Persons conducted sessions on data collection techniques in quantitative and qualitative research plus analysing data collected through both the types. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Bali, Dr. Muhammad Atif and Dr. Muhammad Farooq were Resource Persons. The session chairs included Mr. Akhtar Ali Khan Nehaqi Advocate, Dr. Hanif Khalil and Mr. Amanullah Khan. Dr Farmanullah, Dr. Khan Faqir, Mr. Tariq Amin and Mr. Muhammad Iqbal were stage secretaries of various sessions.  



Director Prof Dr Fakhrul Islam presided over Condolence reference for late Muhammad Aslam Khan, Regional Manager Hamdard Peshawar. He paid rich tributes to the deceased. Hakim Abdul Waheed, Syed Mushtaq Hussain, Malik Liaquat Ali, Prof Roshan Khatak, Dr Adnan Sarwar, Ghazala Yousaf, Shahana Nadir and others spoke on the occasion
